Fire guts flora and fauna at Lumbini Trust



KATHMANDU: A fire suddenly broke out on the premises of Lumbini Development Trust (LDT) when the staffers were away for Dashain holidays.

The fire which broke out at 7 pm Friday destroyed plants, wild birds, animals and grass, said Area Police Office, Lumbini.

The fire which went wild after a fire engine could not pass into the thick jungle was eventually contained by Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and security guards of LDT, according to Police Inspector Rabindra Mahat.

The cause of fire is not yet known. Police said they are investigating the case.
