6 missing as landslides bury 3 houses in Palpa

PALPA: Six people have gone missing after a landslide buried three houses at Phoksingkot Belauja in Rambha rural municipality of Palpa district on Thursday morning.

According to ward chairman Uman Singh Saru, five people went missing after the landslide buried houses of Hum Bahadur Gaha and Man Bahadur Gaha, locals. Those missing ones are the family members of Hum Bahadur Gaha.

Similarly, an expectant mother has gone missing after a landslide triggered by incessant rains buried her house at Surum Danda of Phoksingkot. Her husband, however, managed to escape the death.

Rescue work has been affected due to incessant rains and continuous occurrence of landslides, said rural municipality Chief Bishnu Prasad Bhandari.
