KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi has appealed to the government to resume the rescue work of the stranded citizens as per the Supreme Court’s order.

In a statement on Monday, Tripathi urged the government to spend the money deposited in the welfare fund so far on social security of the workers returning from foreign employment as per Section 33 of the Foreign Employment Act, 2064 BS.

“The government is working on a plan to charge exorbitant fare and hotel expenses while rescuing its citizens stranded in course of foreign employment, but this is a serious violation of the order issued by the Supreme Court,” he said in a statement.

Similarly, it is mentioned in the statement that the expenditure details of the amount deposited in the fund so far should be made transparent.
