16 including 9 NOC staffers infected with COVID-19

BARA: As many as 16 people including staffers of Nepal Oil Corporation, Amlekhganj have been infected with COVID-19 in Bara district.

Nine among those infected are from the regional depot of Nepal Oil Corporation, Amlekhganj, said Krishna Bahadur Thakuri, the ward chairman of Jitpursimara Sub Metropolitan City-21.

According to Thakuri, staffers from administrative and cleaning sector have tested positive for coronavirus.

With the surge in coronavirus cases in the district of late, swab samples of as many as 81 people were collected from Amlekhganj area and sent to Burgunj for screening on last Saturday.

With this, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 601 in Bara district.
