57 persons test positive for COVID-19 in Kailali



KAILALI: As many as 57 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday in Kailali.

According to Dilip Kumar Shrestha, Information Officer at the Seti Provincial Hospital, the tests conducted at the hospital’s laboratory reported 57 people with COVID-19 virus.

He said that 32 people, including 4 women of Godavari Municipality of Kailali and 25 people, including 6 women of Lamkichuha Municipality have been confirmed with the virus aged between 5 and 60 years.

Meanwhile, four health workers at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) in Jumla have tested positive for COVID-19.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the KAHS all services barring emergency department have been suspended.

The institute said it will conduct tests all the staffers at the KAHS.

It has also said it is preparing to trace the contacts of all the infected health workers.
