POKHARA: Democratic Teacher’s Association at Pokhara University has demanded the appointment of Vice-Chancellor and Registrar. Both posts are lying vacant for long.
Issuing a press release today, the Association drew the government’s attention that educational and administrative activities in the university were halted for not having leadership for long. Association Chairman Sanjiv Thapa said some 30,000 students are facing uncertainty as the country’s second-largest university is left without leadership.
Since the enforcement of the lockdown order, the teaching-learning, research, examination, result publication and other administrative works have been badly affected, the Association said, urging the government to immediately make the appointments based on merit.
Similarly, it has requested the teachers, employees and students not to be panicked but be prepared with adequate safety measures to cope with the coronavirus pandemic. RSS
