KATHMANDU: In soothing news for people panicked by an outbreak of coronavirus in Nepal, 10 COVID-19 patients have already recovered after successful treatment.

A 50-year-old woman from Sudurpaschim Province undergoing treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital is the latest person winning the battle against coronavirus pandemic.

Only on Thursday, three people— one from Seti Provincial Hospital and two from Patan Hospital— got discharged.

The woman of Lamki Chuha Municipality-1, Bhuruwa Kailali was diagnosed with COVID-19 on April 13. The woman had a small business in Birgunj. She, along with 16 others, had returned home on March 22.

She was hesitant to stay in quarantine in the beginning, after a request from all was living in quarantine. The rapid diagnostic test had shown her report negative, but when the swab was sent to Kathmandu for a test, it was found positive.

Two persons staying at the Pepsi Cola-based Sun City Apartments, Kathmandu were also discharged today.

A 58-years old man and his 81-year-old mother who had returned from London were discharged from the hospital today following successful treatment for COVID-19. They had tested positive for novel coronavirus on April 14.

The rapid diagnostic test had shown their results positive and the swab test of two done at the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory had confirmed that they had been infected with the coronavirus.

Nepal has a total of 47 COVID-19 cases and 37 are undergoing treatment.
