KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has turned flexible on the issue of amending the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact before ratifying it through the Parliament.

Media reports claimed that the prime minister has agreed to discuss with high-ranking US officials on the amendment.

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders said that PM Oli turned flexible after a majority of leaders are for amending the Compact and the task force formed to study MCC too suggested to not endorsing it in the status quo.

“We have agreed that the Compact should be amended before endorsing it. A next Secretariat meet will make a final call,” NCP Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam was quoted as saying.
