Prachanda vows to form government by restoring HoR



KATHMANDU: Soon after being elected the leader of the Parliamentary Party of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has vowed to form a government by restoring the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR).

“I will move ahead by taking all political parties into confidence towards that end,” he said.

A meeting of the faction held at New Baneshwor in Kathmandu on Wednesday ousted Prime Minister KP Oli from the leadership of the Parliamentary Party and picked Prachanda.

After being unanimously elected the party leader, Prachanda has expressed his commitment to form a government by re-establishing the House of Representatives.

As many as 117 lawmakers were present at the meeting of the Prachanda-Nepal faction.

According to sources, 24 members of the National Assembly (NA) and 93 members of the House of Representatives (HoR) were present at today’s meeting.

The NCP has 174 MPs in the HoR and 47 in the NA.
