Review sought against court’s clean chit to Batala in Ramahari murder case

KATHMANDU: The Office of Attorney General has sought review against the Supreme Court’s decision to offer clean chit to then Brigadier Commander of Maoist’s People’s Liberation Army, Shaktikhor Division in Ram Hari Shrestha murder case.

According to the Supreme Court sources, the Office of Attorney General has filed a review petition at the Supreme Court in the third week of August.

The office of the Attorney General has pointed out that the SC’s verdict on Ram Hari Shreshtha murder case has contradicted with its established precedents.

The joint bench of Justice Tej Bahadur KC and Justice Tanka Bahadur Moktan, on its decision of March 1, had offered the clean cheat to murder alleged Maoist combatant Govinda Bahadur Batala alias Jeevit citing the evidence made available to the court does not establish that the alleged was involved in the assault of Ram Hari Shrestha.
