Kathmandu Valley reports nine coronavirus cases



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley has reported nine new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.

At a regular press briefing at the Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam confirmed the new cases.

According to Spokesperson Gautam, two people from Bhaktapur were found infected in tests at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku and one from Lalitpur and two from Kathmandu at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Hospital.

Similarly, three people from Kathmandu were found to be infected in tests at Patan Hospital and one from Lalitpur tested positive at Star Hospital.

Meanwhile, 156 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from different hospitals and isolation centers in the last 24 hours.

So far, 12,840 people have been discharged across the country after recovery. The recovery rate in the country now stands at 70.39 percent.

Currently, 5,358 people are undergoing treatment and 20,098 have been quarantined.

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 43.
