KATHMANDU: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 104 more people in Gandaki Province on Tuesday evening.
According to the Health Directorate, the number of coronavirus cases in the province has reached 697 with the addition of the new cases.
A total of six cases have been confirmed in Baglung, seven in Kaski, 21 in Parbat, 38 in Nawalparasi (Susta East), one in Tanahun, 13 in Syangja and 18 in Gorkha.
According to Director of Health Directorate Gandaki Province Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma, the tests conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu showed five men and one woman from Dhorpatan Municipality of Baglung, three men and four women from the Pokhara Metropolitan City of Kaski, two men from Bihadi Rural Municipality of Parbat, three men and two women from Paiyun Rural Municipality to have been infected.
Likewise, the infection has been confirmed in nine men of Kusma Municipality, two men and one woman of Modi Rural Municipality and two men of Phalewas Municipality.
Similarly, nine men and one woman of Kawasoti Municipality, five men and five women of Baidikali Rural Municipality and one man of undisclosed local level have been infected.
The infection has also been confirmed in one man of Ghiring Rural Municipality in Tanahuh district.
Three men from Galyang Municipality of Syangja, one woman from Bhirkot Municipality, two women from Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, four men and one woman from Chapakot Municipality and two men from Waling Municipality have also been found infected.
Tests conducted in Pokhara and Kathmandu have confirmed the infection in four men and eight women of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality of Gorkha, three men of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, one man of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality and two men of undisclosed local level.
A laboratory test at Bharatpur Hospital confirmed the infection in two people including one man and one woman from Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat Susta) and 15 men from Bulingtar Rural Municipality.
Preparations are underway to take them to isolation centers in the respective districts, according to the Health Directorate.
