NRNA welcomes SAC’s decision on amending Citizenship Act

KATHMANDU: The Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association (NRNA) has welcomed the citizenship bill approved by the parliamentary State Affairs and Good Governance Committee decision saying that it has come as a next step to ensure citizenship to Nepalis associated with NRNA.

“Further categorizing citizenship in four kinds, the bill has made separate provision on NRNA,” said Vice-Chairman of NRNA, Dr Badri KC, adding that it was very positive endeavor.

The NRNA, Dr KC said, had been putting forth this demand since 2009.

He added that NRNA believes that the bill will be passed by both Houses of the Parliament without making any changes in the Committee’s proposal.
