Be more considerate in speech, NC urges PM

KATHMANDU: Main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has urged the government to be more considerate about the implications of the remarks made on the serious issues as ‘inconsiderate’ remarks divert the attention and complicate the situation rather than helping to resolve it.

Hinting at the inciting comment Prime Minister KP Oli made on India’s emblem and novel coronavirus, NC has advised the government to be more thoughtful and rational while making comment on such serious issues.

NC’s Central Policy, Research and Training Academy, headed by party’s Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi advised the government not to make inciting comments on grave matters.

The statement made by the Academy has criticized the government for making ‘unruly’ comment against the neighboring nation and has said that such remarks complicate the situation and divert the attention from the main agenda.

“The government should realize the gravity of the impacts the language used by the head of the state has, hence, the PM and the Ministers should be more thoughtful about such issues,” Purushottam Dahal, the director of the Academy said, after making the decision of two days meeting of the academy public.

In its statement the government has asked the government to seek highlevel diplomatic initiation to settle the border issues like Lipu Lekh with India and other parts with eastern neighbor China as well.

The academy has also demanded the government to focus more on PCR method for coronavirus test. It has reiterated the need to make the test free and accessible to all as the corona hit people are not in the condition to pay for such test.

The academy has suggested the government to focus more on intensifying the agricultural production as it’s the only means to counter the ‘food crisis’ in post-COVID-19 period.
