COVID-19 cases mount to 45 in Nepal

GAIGHAT: With three more cases of coronavirus infection, the number of infected people in Nepal has reached 45.

Three new patients have tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health has confirmed.

According to spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Bikash Devkota, three people — aged 72, 60 and 24 respectively — tested positive for the virus via PCR method at a lab in BP Koirala Institute for Health and Sciences, Dharan.

According to the Ministry of Health, the report of a 55-year-old woman whose swab was brought to Kathmandu-based central lab for PCR test came out COVID-19 positive.

Dr. Mohan Subedi, the Chief of District Health Office informed that the infected woman is being taken to Biratnagar based Corona Hospital. Prior to, this her husband had tested COVID-19 positive.

Dr. Subedi said the woman’s husband is also undergoing treatment in Biratnagar based Corona Hospital.

With this the number of coronavirus infection case has reached 25 in Udayapur alone. 11 persons of the same area of Bhulke, Udayapur were found COVID-19 infected on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 7 of the 45 coronavirus patients have been recovered, which means that Nepal has now 38 active Covid-19 cases.
