28 injured as rescue bus meets with accident in Ramechhap



MANTHALI: Twenty eight people were injured when a minibus ferrying the people stranded in Kathmandu back to their home met with an accident at Manthali-6, Kunauri on early Wednesday.

A passenger bus, Ba 2 Kha 6818, carrying the  stranded people from Kathmandu back to their home in Ramechhap and Dolakha met with an accident at Manthali-6, Kunauri at 4 am today, confirmed, District Police Office, Ramechhap.

Police said that three passengers who sustained critical injuries are referred to Kathmandu-based Trauma Center, whereas rest of the injured are undergoing treatment at Manthali-based Tamakoshi Sahakari Hospital.

According to police, the bus was hired by the local authorities of Ramechhap and Dolakha to rescue the people stranded in Kathmandu due to lockdown.

With the extension of lockdown, thousands of students, wage earners and workers living on rent in Kathmandu are striving to return home.
