Trump says immigration suspension to last 60 days

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has suspended the immigration for green-card seekers for 60 days.

He argued that this controversial move was aimed at protecting US jobs.

President Trump made the offer of the first details about what has been dubbed as ‘vague announcement’ he made, addressing a key issue to his conservative base as the United States is currently ravaged by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Trump said that by suspending the immigration, this will help put unemployed Americans first in line for jobs as America reopens.
