Ex-Speaker Mahara nominated NCP Standing Committee member



KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the Nepal Communist (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has decided to nominate former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara as a member of the Standing Committee.

Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha said that the meeting endorsed the decision of the Standing Committee meeting to that end.

Mahara had resigned from the party after being elected Speaker.

The meeting also decided to oust Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the party Chairmanship and picked leader Nepal as the new Chairman.
