 NC leader Dr Koirala consults legal experts on constitutional crisis



KATHMANDU:  Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has held a meeting with party’s central working committee (CWC) members and legal experts on the constitutional crisis created following the dissolution of the parliament on Tuesday morning.

NC CWC members – Deepak Giri, Ram Krishna Yadav, Gagan Thapa, Badri Pandey,  Jeevan Pariyar were present in the meeting.

Also present in the meeting were legal experts Radheshyam Adhikari, Sher Bahadur KC, Upendra Keshari Neupane, Mahadev Yadav, Basanta Ram Bhandari, Dr Bhimarjun Acharya, Ram Krishna Timalsina, Yogendra Adhikari, Sunil Pokharel and Ekraj Pokharel, said an NC source.

In an hour-long meeting, the leaders and legal experts dwelled on the recent constitutional void created following the dissolution of the parliament.

The meeting has taken place few hours before the NC CWC meeting which is taking place at the central party headquarters at 1 pm in Sanepa today.

The meeting will dwell on the latest political development and come up with an official take on the dissolution of the parliament.

The constitutional crisis has arisen after President Bidya Bhandari dissolved the parliament at the recommendation of the Oli-led cabinet meeting on Sunday.
