No point in hooliganism to fight against wrong ideas: Banskota

KATHMANDU: Central member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Gokul Banskota has said that there is no point in hooliganism to fight against wrong ideas.

After the party cadres chanted slogans against party standing committee member Surendra Pandey in Chitwan, Banskota, who is also a former minister, tweeted that the right idea would be enough to fight against wrong ideas.

“The real identity of human armament is the development of conscientiousness and analytical consciousness,” Banskota said in a tweet.

Earlier, NCP senior leaders Jhalanath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal had issued statements condemning the incident.

Cadres close to Prime Minister KP Oli had mistreated leader Pandey at the ‘Meeting and Training’ program of the NCP Chitwan Rapti Municipal Committee on Saturday morning.

While Pandey was speaking at the program, a group of 15/20 people from outside the committee had entered the meeting hall and stopped Pandey from speaking by sloganeering.

They had accused leader Pandey of making a wrong statement against Prime Minister Oli and supporting a faction.
