Kathmandu Valley reports 1,552 new COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: As many as 1,552 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,283 persons in Kathmandu, 112 in Lalitpur, 197 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for coronavirus.

Similarly, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 148, 509 as of Thursday afternoon after 3,637 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Jageshwor altogether 15,255 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, 3,215 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 102,820 in the country.

Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 69.2 percent, he added.

Nepal currently has 44,877 active cases, he said.

Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 13,339 people are in institutional isolation and 31,538 others are in home isolation facilities.

Likewise, 3,751 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Similarly, he said that 290 infected ones are receiving treatment in ICU beds and 77 on ventilator support.

Likewise, 21 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 812, the Ministry confirmed.
