No meeting held with RAW Chief: Deuba’s Secretariat



KATHMANDU: The Secretariat of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the leader did not meet Samant Goel, Chief of Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s foreign intelligence agency.

A nine-member team led by RAW Chief Goel had arrived in Nepal on Wednesday on a diplomatic flight.

Former Prime Minister Deuba’s Personal Secretary Bhanu Deuba has clarified that he had not any meeting with the RAW chief.

Earlier, Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had claimed that they had not met Goel.

However, it has been confirmed that RAW Chief Goel met Prime Minister KP Oli.

In a statement, Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Surya Thapa admitted that the Goel had arrived in Baluwatar on Wednesday evening and held a meeting.
