COVID-19 infected man under home isolation dies in Saptari

SAPTARI: A COVID-19 infected person of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1 in Saptari district died due to COVID-19 at his home on Tuesday.

Although the District Health Office, Saptari claimed that the 49-year-old man died in different hospitals, the family of the deceased clarified that he passed away in home isolation.

Health Office’s Officiating chief Duniyalal Yadav said that the COVID-19 infected person died at Dharan-based B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS). At the same time, Malaria Inspector of the Health Office Saptari,
Narayan Raut, Barai shared that the man died at Golden Hospital in Biratnagar, Morang.

The infected person had fallen off a coconut tree nine days ago.

Injured in the incident, he was rushed to the Golden Hospital where he had tested positive for COVID-19.

The hospital had recommended the family of the infected person to treat him at the isolation facility in BPKIHS, but he was kept in home-isolation.

The dead body of the person succumbing to the flu-like infection was managed by the Nepal Army’s Bhim Dal Battalion, informed Bhupendra Prasad Yadav, the nephew of the deceased one.

With this, the number of people losing their lives to COVID-19 in Saptari district reaches 11.
