Youth killed as landslide buries house in Jhapa



JHAPA:  A youth has been killed after a house caved in due to a landslide at Motidanda in Buddhashanti rural municipality-7 in Jhapa district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Bibek Darnal of Mechinagar-9.

Police have informed that Darnal had come to Tej Kumar Baraili’s house as a guest when the incident took place.

Meanwhile, 77-year-old Tilmaya Baraili, Kalpana Baraili,21, and Prishtina Baraili,19, sustained injuries when the house collapsed due to a landslide triggered by incessant rains, said Ramesh Kumar Bhujel, the chief of the rural municipality.
