1,000 taxis face music since lockdown relaxed



KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has taken action against 1,000 taxis until Sunday since the government relaxed lockdown on June 14.

The government has not allowed riding two people on a motorbike and public vehicles including rented taxis have been restricted.

SP Bamdev Gautam of the Division said they have been taking action against those who violate the lockdown.

A total of 392 taxis faced music on Sunday alone. As many as 1,862 including four-wheelers and two-wheelers were taken action against yesterday.

Of them almost 1,300 were two-wheelers, said Gautam. Similarly, 16,400 vehicles were penalized after odd-even system was imposed.

The Division said 63 vehicles were taken action against for violating rules this morning.
