83,000 Nepalis return home from Trinagar transit

KAILALI : People who had gone for work in neighbouring India continue to return home from the Trinagar customs point.

Following the scare of the coronavirus infection, thousands of Nepalis have returned home.

So far, 83,020 Nepali have returned from various parts of India using the Trinagar transit.

However, the number is gradually decreasing in the recent past. “Earlier, as many as 6,000 used to arrive on a day basis but that has now come down to 400 to 500, said information officer at Kailali District Administration Office, Shiva Raj Joshi.

The number has gone down as many have already returned while some remained back as loosening of the lockdown in India has helped them continue with their jobs, Joshi said.
