SC refuses to register writ against ordinances



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday refused to register a writ filed against ordinances related to political party and constitutional council issued by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

The apex court declined to register the writ saying that a writ against Office of President can’t be registered.

During the lockdown, the apex court is registering writs only related to coronavirus and habeas corpus.

President Bhandari on Monday had issued ordinances related to Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First amendment), 2077 and another ordinance related to Political Party (Second amendment), 2077 on the recommendation of the government.
