Death toll in Italy climbs to 24,114 after 454 die in 24 hrs

KATHMANDU: Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 454 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 24,114 as of Tuesday morning.

With 2,256 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 181, 228 the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 108, 237 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,573 are critical. Meanwhile, 48,877 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 170,370 and infecting 2,479,691 people as of Tuesday morning.
