COVID-19: Healthy mum dies after giving birth becoming one of youngest victims



POLAND: A healthy woman who had just given birth has died of coronavirus, aged just 27.

The unnamed new mother was the sixth person to die in Poland and is thought to be one of the youngest victims worldwide.

The woman is said to have contracted Covid-19 from her mother who had just returned from Italy, which currently at the center of the global pandemic.

Reports in the Polish media say the woman had given birth just a few days earlier and had no health concerns.

In the UK there have been 144 deaths, and more than 3,000 confirmed cases. An estimated 1.4million people who are most ‘at risk’ from severe coronavirus will be sent a text message or letter advising them to stop all social contact.

Health secretary Matt Hancock said the very most vulnerable will be told to carry out social distancing measures in place for 12 weeks from Monday.

A fuller policy with details will be announced “in the coming days”, a Downing Street spokesman said.
