JHAPA: Police have arrested eight people, including a school principal from Gauradaha municipality in the Jhapa district.
The principal of a local Amar Secondary School, Gopal Pokharel was arrested along with locals Jay Prasad Gautam, Gyanendra Dhakal, Ram Bahadur Dhungana, Rohit Basnet, Mahesh Niraula, Netra Pokharel and Gopal Dhakal while gambling at a house of Dinesh Pokharel at Gauradaha municipality-9.
A spokesperson at the District Police Office, Mahendra Kumar Shrestha, informed a police team deployed from Area Police Office, Jhiljhile arrested them on Thursday night.
Police have also seized Rs 91,380 and seven mobile sets from them.
