Two arrested on the charge of rape

NAWALPARASI: Police have arrested two persons on the charge of raping a teenage girl.

They were arrested from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl.

Those arrested are Krishna Gupta and Kishan Kewat, according to police inspector at district police office, Rajiv Shrestha.

The heinous act was reportedly committed on November 12 when the girl had gone to fetch water from the nearby tap at night.

The boys took the girl by force to a garden nearby and raped her, according to the mother of the rape survivor. The two boys were arrested based on the complaint filed against them. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.

Meanwhile, in Saptari, a youth was arrested while attempting to rape a woman who was asleep. The accused Manish Kumar Chaudhary,28, sneaked into the woman’s room and tried to rape her.

The incident took place on November 14 night and the youth was arrested the next day based on a complaint filed against him, according to Area Police Office, Kalyanpur.

Chaudhary has been taken into judicial custody while an investigation is underway. —
