PM Oli expresses condolences over ‘Snow Leopard’ Sherpa’s death

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed sorrow over the passing of world record-holder mountaineer Angrita Sherpa and paid tribute to him.

In a tweet this afternoon, PM extended deep condolences to the bereaved family and well-wishers.

“Very saddened by the passing away of Angrita Sherpa, who set the world record by climbing the Sagarmatha 10 times without supplementary oxygen. I pay tribute to him and express my profound condolences to the grief-stricken family and well-wishes at this hour of sorrow. His feat would always be remembered,” the Prime Minister wrote in his twitter post.

Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has also expressed condolences on Sherpa’s demise.

The Tourism Minister, through the social media Facebook, expressed grief over the ‘Snow Leopard’ Sherpa’s demise and paid tribute to him as well as extending condolences to the bereaved family.
