KATHMANDU: Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane-involved Delhi Capitals made a flying start in a cricket match held under the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In a match held in the UAE on Sunday night, Delhi Capitals defeated Kings Xi Punjab in a Super Over.
When Punjab made two runs in three balls losing two wickets, KL Rahul made only two runs while Nicholas Pooran could not make any runs.
Kagiso Rabada took both the wickets. Delhi achieved the three-run target in three balls. Delhi’s Rishav Panta made a decisive run.
Earlier, Delhi had set a 158-run target for Punjab. The match had been converted to Super Over after Punjab made 157 by losing eight wickets.
Mayank Agarwal made highest 89 runs, KL Rahul 21 while Krishnappa contributed Gowtham 20 runs. The other players could not reach even double-digit runs.
Delhi’s Kagiso Rabada, Ravichandran Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis took two wickets each while Mohit Sharma and Axar Patel grabbed one wicket each.
