CAN to insure national cricketers

KATHMANDU: Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) has said it is planning to insure national cricketers of Nepal.

Talking to Khabarhub, CAN secretary Ashoknath Pyakurel said the official governing body of cricket is making preparations to bring insurance schemes for Nepali cricketers to boost their morale amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We will conduct a closed session for the national team as soon as the situation turns favorable,” said Pykurel, adding, “We will insure senior male players and those officials working in the field as well.”

Cricketers have been deprived of the training since long.

The training which was supposed to begin from August 17 has been postponed following the government’s order.
