Rajbiraj Municipality clamps complete lockdown

SAPTARAI: While the government has announced the ending of the nationwide lockdown, Rajbiraj Municipality has announced a complete lockdown in the municipality from Wednesday.

Mayor Shambhu Prasad Yadav issued a statement on Tuesday stating that it has been decided to enforce a complete lockdown in the city area from Wednesday.

People have been requested the people to close all the markets, shops, businesses, government and non-government offices and financial institutions except the essential services.

Mayor Yadav said the decision was taken after an elderly man who had returned from India died of coronavirus infection and his family members were confirmed to be infected with the virus.

According to him, the man had returned home from India 13 days ago.

Residents of Rajbiraj have become panic-stricken after the coronavirus infection was confirmed in a couple and neighbors who came in contact with the deceased.
