Nepal Army rescues two from Maikhola river

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has rescued two persons deserted in the flooded Maikhola.

The flooded Maikhola divided into two branches by trapping a cowshed in between where there were two persons from Maijogmai Rural Municipality-5. Lok Bahadur Nembang, 65, and Jojo Limbu, 30, were brought to safety by the NA persons last night.

The NA persons had learned about the persons risked by the flooded river in the evening and immediately began intervention for the rescue.

Electricity production disrupted

The hydropower production in the hilly districts of the State witnessed disruption in the wake of active monsoon.

Most of the hydropower projects were disrupted after incessant rainfall for some days.

In some places, the power houses were waterlogged and some damaged by the landslides, according to Kabeli Corridor Transmission Line. Similarly, the production of electricity has declined in some projects.

Panchthar district producing 37 megawatt electricity has now decreased to 8 megawatts.

Puwakhola Hydropower of Ilam is dysfunctional after the power house is waterlogged.
