GULMI: Three villages of Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality have been sealed after finding a postpartum mother coronavirus positive on Sunday.
According to Laxman Pandey, the Chief Administrative Officer of the Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality, a 21-year-old postpartum woman, whose husband had returned from India and joined the family after 14 days in quarantine, has tested positive in PCR test carried out in Bhairahawa based labpratory.
Pandey informed that the contact tracing has been initiated and three villages i.e. Rote Pani, Ukhap and Ripaha have been sealed.
According to the source, she was referred to Lumbini Medical College after she had RDT positive. Lumbini Medical College had sent her swab for PCR test in Bhairahawa.
According to Narayan Aryal, the Health Coordinator of Gulmi Durbal Rural Municipality, the woman’s husband had returned home from India on May 24 and spent 14 days in quarantine prior to be sent home.
He had tested negative in the RDT, but 11 days after he went home, his wife had tested positive in RDT.
Gulmi has seen 174 COVID-19 cases till Sunday afternoon. Likewise, 6 people have returned home after recovery, but 3 have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the district.
