USA reports 93, 382 deaths, 1,568,761 infection cases



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,401 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 93, 382.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 18, 467 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,568,761 as of Wednesday morning.

Currently, 1,114, 226 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 17,246 are critical.  Meanwhile, 361, 153 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 28, 648 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 10, 591 and 5,938 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 324,371 and infecting 4,980,  783 people as of Wednesday morning.
