NCP holding Secretariat meeting at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: An emergency Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) summoned by Prime Minister and Chairman of (NCP), KP Oli, has begun at prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday evening.

After making a cabinet decision concerning the ordinance for the amendment of the bill related with political party, the Prime Minister and NCP Chairman Oli has called for the party’s Secretariat meeting.

The government had earlier today decided to bring an ordinance to amend the Political Parties Act for changing a provision that requires at least 40 percent members of Parliamentary Party and Central Committee for splitting a political party.

The amendment will be made so that a new party can be split with at least 40 percent of members of Parliamentary Party or Central Committee.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held at Baluwatar on Monday decided to this effect.
