KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada has said that the government is mulling to gradually relax the lockdown in some areas.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, Finance Minister Khatiwada said the lockdown will be slackened in the infrastructure building sector and those areas with less risk of Coronavirus infection.

“Khatiwada further stated that the government has made a good management of supplies so as not to let any people die of starvation. “The workers associated with the organized sector will get the salary for the Nepali month Chaitra while the government will provide them their amount deposited in the Social Security Fund. The government is distributing relief to the daily wage earners,” said Khatiwada.

Meanwhile, he told the entrepreneurs to get ready to welcome the foreigners saying that they will come to visit Nepal after October.

“The task on the import of petroleum products has been increased while that of induction ovens has been reduced to encourage use of electricity,” said he.
