Qatar govt deports 150 Nepalis over ‘disobedience’

KATHMANDU: The Qatar government has deported 150 Nepalis on Friday.

They were arrested from Qatar’s industrial sector of Sanaya on Thursday after allegedly disobeying the government’s order.

“They were sent back to Nepal via a flight no. 644 of Qatar Airways,” Qatari officials said, adding, “Some more are likely to be deported soon.”

The Qatar government had directed the migrant workers of Sanaya not to go outside the designated area and abstain the crowd.

However, the workers who were arrested while shopping or playing volleyball said they were not notified about the restriction.

Earlier, Qatar had arrested and deported 250 migrant workers on similar charges last Monday.
