NCP Chairmen meet in Baluwatar after Tumbahangphe denies quitting

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reached prime minister’s official residence to meet PM and another Chairman KP Oli on Monday.

The Chairmen are discussing the resignation of Deputy Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe. Oli and Dahal are discussing the issue after NCP Secretariat on Sunday finalized Agni Sapkota as the party’s candidate for Speaker.

According to the source, the Chairmen are discussing a possible way ahead if Tumbahangphe is adamant about not resigning.

The ruling party has been asking for her resignation as Speaker and Deputy Speaker should be from different parties as per the constitutional provision.
