Oli, Dahal agree to induct Deputy Speaker Tumbahangphe into Cabinet

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairmen KP Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have agreed to induct Deputy Speaker Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe into Cabinet.

According to sources, NCP Chairmen have agreed to appoint Tumbahangphe as Cabinet minister after she will resign.

Oli and Dahal had summoned Tumbahangphe to Baluwatar on Sunday and asked her to resign after finalizing Agni Sapkota as the party’s candidate for Speaker.

“Deputy Speaker Tumbahangphe asked the reason for stepping down,” sources said, “But, she will quit today.”

The ruling party has been asking for her resignation as Speaker and Deputy Speaker should be from different parties as per the constitutional provision.
