Oli, Prachanda engage in one-on-one talks at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: Executive Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reached Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Oli.

The Chairmen are holding talks ahead of a Standing Committee meeting slated for this afternoon.

On Saturday, Oli had warned Executive Chairman Prachanda not to join the Standing Committee unless he withdraws the proposal against him.

In response, Chairman Prachanda had said that the proposal would not be withdrawn and that a conclusion should be reached after discussing it in the meeting of the Standing Committee.

The last meeting of the Standing Committee was held on Wednesday.

The meeting approved the agreement reached between Oli and Prachanda to withdraw the Constitutional Council Act Amendment Ordinance and signatures submitted to the President demanding to summon a special session of Parliament.

But, Oli did not withdraw the ordinance. He has put forward a new condition that the ordinance cannot be returned until Prachanda’s ‘charge sheet’ against him is returned.
