KATHMANDU: Dispute between Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Prime Minister KP Oli and Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has spilled over with conflicting press notes from their Secretariats.

At first, Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Surya Thapa, in a press note claimed that Oli and Prachanda have reached a four-point agreement to resolve the party’s dispute in Karnali Province on Tuesday morning.

They have reached a deal regarding the withdrawal of no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, annulling the decision of Chief Minister Shahi to remove Gulabjang Shah as Chief Whip, annulling the decision to appoint Sita Nepali as Chief Whip and to take necessary decisions based on advice and understanding, Thapa had stated.

A few minutes later, the Secretariat of the Executive Chairman Prachanda claimed that no four-point accord has been reached with another Chairman Oli over the dispute.

In a statement on Tuesday evening, Press Coordinator to Prachanda Bishnu Prasad Sapkota ‘Jugal’ requested everyone not to get confused.

During the discussion, it was agreed to withdraw or annual the no-confidence motion and to suggest that the issues related to the Chief Whip be resolved by the province party committee and the provincial government itself, he said in the press note.
