NC warns of ‘no treatment, no tax campaign’

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), has urged Prime Minister KP Oli-led government to provide free treatment to coronavirus-infected citizens.

NC has also warned to face the people’s campaign of non-payment of taxes if the infected citizens are not treated free of cost.

Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma tweeted urging Prime Minister Oli to repeal the decision and warned him to be ready to face the ‘no treatment, no tax’ campaign.

Last Sunday, the government decided to provide free tests and treatment only to financially deprived, helpless, single women, highly-disabled, senior citizens and frontline workers.
