Three including a septuagenarian die due to COVID-19 infection



KATHMANDU:Three more people infected with coronavirus have died in Sunsari and  Rupandehi districts.

An infected woman has died in the course of treatment at Butwal COVID-19 Special Hospital on Tuesday morning.

The woman,44, from Butwal Sub-metropolis-11 underwent a PCR test at the laboratory of Lumbini Provincial Hospital on Monday after she had respiratory complications.

The patient was being treated on ventilator after her swab sample report came positive. She was pronounced dead at 5:10 am today, said Dr Bishnu Gautam, the information  officer for the hospital.

She was also suffering from diabetes, according to Gautam.

With this, the number of deaths linked with the coronavirus has reached 35 at Lumbini Provincial Hospital.

Similarly, two more people infected with COVID-19 have died in the course of treatment at BP Koirala Institue of Health Sciences in Dharan.

The deceased are a 72-year-old man of Dharan Sub-metropolis-18 and a 68-year-old man of Dharan-17, according to Dr Ashish Shrestha, the deputy spokesperson of the Hospital. They died on Monday afternoon.

The septuagenarian had been diagnosed with the virus on October 15 and the other deceased had tested positive for the virus on October 14,  said Shrestha.
