Mayor’s nephew arrested for vandalizing Dinesh Media House



KATHMANDU: The main-accused behind the vandalization of Dinesh Media House in Dhangadhi has been arrested.

According to Dinesh Online, Samir Bik alias Jeevan of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 5 has been arrested by the police.

According to District Police Office Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pratik Bista, BK was arrested from Dhunge Bazaar of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 6.

He is the nephew of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan Mayor Nrip Bahadur Wad.

BK had led the group that attacked Dinesh Media House on August 10.

A group of agitated youths led by BK had staged a protest at the Seti Hospital after Roshan BK, 19, of Dhangadhi-5 died in the custody of the District Police Office.

They had reached the media house saying that they had written the news of their protest at the hospital.

BK had given pressure to the media to remove the news.

Organizations including the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) protested against the attack on the journalist and the attack on the media house. He was arrested on the 10th day of the incident.
