CAN sends name list of national players for remunerations



KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has sent name-list of national cricket players to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for remunerations.

ICC has been providing remunerations to Nepal’s national cricket players.

Following ICC’s request for the name list, CAN recommended 22 national cricket players and a video analyst for remunerations for 2019, said CAN’s secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel.

Nepal’s cricket players had been receiving their remunerations even when ICC suspended CAN.
In 2018, ICC provided two year’s remunerations to 21 cricket players through the National Sports Council, Nepal.

CAN has divided national players into three categories for remunerations.

Based on this, the players have been receiving remunerations from ICC.

As per the agreement, Group ‘A’ players of Nepal receive Rs 35,000 each in remuneration, Group ‘B’ players Rs 25,000 and Group ‘C’ Rs 15,000.

Players, Captain Gyanendra Malla, Paras Khadka, Sharad Bheshwakar, Basanta Regmi, Sandip Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami fall into Group ‘A’.

Group ‘B’ players are Karan KC, Shakti Gauchan, Aarif Shekh, Anil Kumar Sah, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Lalit Narayan Rajbamshi and Lalit Singh Bhandari. Dilip Nath, Subas Khakurel, Sunil Dhamala, Sushan Bhari, Kishor Mahato, Binod Bhandari and Sagar Pun are placed in Group ‘C’.

This time, video analyst Raman Siwakoti and player Raju Rijal have been added on the recommendation for remunerations, it has been said.
