The death and infection rates from coronavirus across the country have doubled in the past 18 days.

In Kathmandu, the infection rate has doubled in just eight days, and continues to grow.

Due to the unorganized settlement of Kathmandu and the population density here, there is a high risk of infection, which could lead to a catastrophic situation, the ministry said.

Elsewhere in the country, the death rate from COVID-19 in the country is 0.4. But the death rate in Kathmandu has reached 0.6.

Likewise, 1 percent of people over the age of 60 across the country were infected.

Infections with symptoms have been on the rise for over a month. Many complications are being added to the infected persons. That is why the death toll is rising in the recent days.
